Open Call for Nominations

The Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (GA-ASMBS) is seeking nominations for open positions on the Board of Directors: Vice President; and Secretary/Treasurer. To serve, a candidate must be a Regular Member of the ASMBS and the GA-ASMBS (Georgia’s ASMBS Chapter) in good standing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending at least four board meetings per year. Usually only one of these meetings is a face-to-face meeting in conjunction with the Annual Meeting.
  • Providing input and feedback on activities and initiatives of the chapter.
  • Assisting in program development and outreach to the membership.

The terms of service are two years for the office of Vice President and three years for the other positions.

To ensure the candidate has agreed to the position, self-nomination is required. If a current officeholder (Current Secretary/Treasurer and Members at Large of the Board) is eligible to serve a second term and desires to do so, they must self-nominate for the second term. Please submit a Curriculum Vitae along with a brief letter of interest and description of qualifications to the Nominating Committee at gachapterasmbs@gmail.com by June 30, 2022. Up to two supporting letters may accompany the nomination but are not required.

Please join the leadership of the GA-ASMBS and its aim to improve the surgical care of patients in the state of Georgia.
